The two have worked on dozens of projects since 1998, many which have been featured in publications that include Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, House Beautiful and Vanity Fair. A job offer from Nievera set him on a path through the world of high-end landscaping. Williams was immediately interested in what Nievera had accomplished with landscape and garden design, which also spoke to Williams' own love for graphic arts. He (Nievera) said, ‘Why don’t you come and check out what I do?’” Nievera “bought a few of my paintings, and I didn’t really know who he was at the time,” Williams said. “He asked me how did I like my job and I told him I was at a dead end because I knew I was never going to be an editor at the Post. Nievera had already established a name for himself in Palm Beach for his meticulously designed landscapes. That’s when he started painting on his days off, a hobby that would lead him to meet Mario Nievera, his future business partner. The job wasn’t giving him the creative satisfaction he sought. He settled in Palm Beach County and eventually found work in the advertising department of The Palm Beach Post, starting with ad layouts and eventually becoming a manager.īut nine years later, Williams was restless. After two years of college, Williams came to Florida on a vacation in the late 1980s - and never left.
